Most small businesses know what they want, more clients, a new market, better margins, but a goal stays a wish until someone writes down who does what and by when. The Business Strategy Plan tool turns a short description of your business and its goal into a practical strategic plan you can discuss with your team.

You describe what you sell and to whom, the goal and the deadline, your budget and team, current results, competitors and main obstacles. The tool returns a plan in eight parts, from a summary of where you stand to three steps for the next seven days.

Within Business documents, two tools are useful before you commit to a plan. The Cost-Benefit Analysis tool helps you compare options, and Brainstorming helps when you still need ideas to choose from.

What you get

  • A situation summary with every assumption clearly labeled
  • One main goal written as a SMART objective, specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound
  • Three strategic priorities, each with one sentence on why it matters
  • An action table with the columns Action, Owner, Timing and Resources needed, with roles as owners

What you fill in

Business, goal and situation optional

What you sell and to whom, the goal and deadline, budget, team, current results, competitors and main obstacles.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Describe the business and the goal

The form has one field, Business, goal and situation. Start with what you sell and to whom, then the goal and its deadline, for example ten new restaurant clients by June.

  2. Add resources, results and obstacles

Write your budget, the size of the team, current results, main competitors and what is holding you back.

  3. Generate in your team's language

Choose the output language and a tone, then generate. The plan comes in about 500 to 800 words with two tables, ready to paste into a shared document.

  4. Fill the placeholders and assign people

Replace [baseline] and [target] with your own figures, put a name next to each role in the action table and set a date at the end of each month to review the KPIs.

Example, input and output

Family bakery growing its wholesale clients

Input

keywords
Family-run bakery in Verona, bread and pastries, sells in the shop and to 5 local cafés. Goal: 10 new café or restaurant clients by June. Budget 3,000 euros. Team of 4, one person can handle sales part-time. Main obstacles: no time for sales, and the delivery van is busy in the morning.

Output

## Situation
A family-run bakery in Verona selling bread and pastries in its shop and to five local cafés. Wholesale growth is held back by lack of time for sales and by a delivery van that is busy in the morning. Assumption: the bakery can produce for ten more clients without new equipment.

## Objective
Add 10 new café or restaurant clients in Verona by [June date], served on the current delivery schedule or on a second round.

## Strategic priorities
1. **Dedicated sales time.** Without a fixed weekly slot, sales will keep losing out to production.
2. **Delivery capacity.** New clients only help if they can be served on time.
3. **A simple wholesale offer.** A short product list and clear terms make the first meeting easier.

(The full output continues with the action table, the 90-day roadmap, the KPI table, the risks and the next 7 days.)

Tips for better results

  • Give one main goal per plan. Growth, hiring and a new product in the same brief produce three thin plans instead of one useful one.
  • Include the deadline. A SMART objective needs a date, and without one the tool uses a placeholder.

Who uses it, and for what

Small business owner with a growth goal

Turn an aim such as more wholesale clients or a second location into a plan the whole team can read, with concrete steps for the first week.

Marketing or sales manager preparing a quarter

Describe the target for the next three months and use the roadmap and the KPI table as the backbone of the quarterly plan.

Limits and good practice

  • It does not analyze your market or competitors beyond what you write in the brief.
  • There are no financial projections or forecasts. Budget figures come only from you.

Frequently asked questions

What is a SMART objective?

A goal that is specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound. Instead of grow wholesale, a SMART objective says add 10 café clients in Verona by June. The tool rewrites your goal in this form and, if your brief has no target or deadline, leaves placeholders so you can set them yourself.

Is this a full business plan?

No. A business plan for a bank or investors includes market analysis, financial projections and company details. This tool produces an operational strategic plan for one goal, with priorities, actions, a 90-day roadmap, KPIs and risks. It is meant for running the business, not for raising money.

Will the tool invent targets or figures?

No. Numbers in the plan come only from your brief. Where a KPI needs a starting value or a target you did not give, the tool writes [baseline] or [target]. Any assumption it has to make is labeled as an assumption, so you can see exactly what to check.

Can I use it for a team instead of a whole company?

Yes. Describe the team as the business, for example the marketing team of a manufacturing company, with its goal, people, budget and obstacles. The action table uses roles, so it works for a department as well as for a whole company.

How often should I update the plan?

Review the KPIs at the end of each month of the roadmap. If results or circumstances change, describe the new situation in the form and generate an updated plan. Keeping each version lets you see how your priorities shifted over time.
