Text to Speech

Turn written text into a voiceover, choosing the language, voice, pace and pauses for each part of the script.

Sign in or create a free account, the tool opens in your workspace.

Recording a voiceover takes a quiet room, a good microphone and several takes. AI text to speech skips that step for drafts, explainers and short clips where a clear synthetic voice is enough. You write or paste the script, choose a language and a voice, and the tool turns the text into an audio file you can preview and use.

The script can be split into several speech blocks. Each block has its own language, voice, pace and pause, so one project can hold a narrator and a second voice, or a sentence in English followed by one in Spanish. Pace goes from very slow to ultra fast, and the pause setting adds a gap after a block, which gives lists and step-by-step instructions room to breathe.

Text to Speech belongs to the Images, audio and video family. Write the words first with Video & Audio Ad Scripts, or go the other way with Speech to Text.

What you get

  • An audio file generated from your text, with a preview in the workspace
  • Voices and languages chosen from searchable menus in the form
  • Pace control in five steps, from very slow to ultra fast
  • A pause after each block, to separate sentences, steps or speakers
  • Several speech blocks in one project, each with its own voice and settings

What you fill in

Text to read aloud required

Write or paste the text for the voiceover. Use punctuation to guide pauses and spell out numbers, acronyms and foreign names the way they should be pronounced.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Name the project

Replace the placeholder title at the top, so you can find the voiceover later.

  2. Write the script in blocks

Paste the text into the first speech block. Use Add New to create another block whenever the voice, the language or the pace needs to change, for example for a second speaker or a quote.

  3. Choose language, voice and pace

For each block, pick the language first and then a voice that speaks it. Medium pace suits most narration, slow works better for instructions and learning material.

  4. Set the pause and generate

Choose how many seconds of silence follow each block, then press Generate and listen to the preview.

  5. Fix pronunciation and generate again

If a name, an acronym or a number sounds wrong, spell it the way it should be read, or add punctuation where you want a breath, then generate the audio again.

Example, input and output

Two-block intro for an online lesson

Input

Block 1 (English, US, medium pace, 1 s pause)
Welcome to the course. In this first lesson, we will set up your account in three steps.
Block 2 (English, US, slow pace)
Step one. Open the settings page and choose your language.

Output

One audio file: the first block read at a normal speed, one second of silence, then the second block read more slowly, with a clear stop after "Step one."

Tips for better results

  • Write for the ear. Short sentences with one idea each sound more natural than long written paragraphs.
  • Spell out what the voice should say, for example "twenty twenty-six" if you want 2026 read as a year.
  • Use commas and periods to guide pauses inside a block, and the Pause menu between blocks.

Who uses it, and for what

Video creator

Turn the script of an explainer or a product demo into narration, then add it to the video in your editor.

Teacher or trainer

Produce audio versions of lessons and instructions at a slow pace, so learners can listen while they follow along.

E-commerce team

Create short voiceovers for product videos in several languages from translated versions of the same script.

Blogger or newsletter writer

Offer a listenable version of a written piece for readers who prefer audio.

Limits and good practice

  • A synthetic voice suits drafts, explainers, product demos and training. For a brand campaign or emotional storytelling, a professional voice actor may still be the better choice.
  • Do not use the tool to imitate a real person or to make it sound as if someone said something they did not say.
  • Rare names, brands and foreign words can be pronounced differently by different voices. Listen before you publish.
  • Longer texts use more credits from your plan balance.

Frequently asked questions

How natural does the AI voice sound?

The voices are designed for clear narration, explainers and instructions. Results depend on the voice and on the script: short sentences, clear punctuation and words spelled the way they are spoken give the most natural audio. Listen to the preview and adjust the pace or the text before you use the file.

Can I use different voices or languages in the same project?

Yes. Split the script into speech blocks with Add New. Each block has its own language, voice, pace and pause, so you can alternate a narrator and a second speaker, or switch language between sentences, inside one project. Keep blocks short, so each change of voice falls exactly where you want it.

How do I make the voice pause or slow down?

Use punctuation for short pauses inside a block, the Pace menu to slow down or speed up a whole block, and the Pause menu to add seconds of silence after it. For step-by-step instructions, one block per step with a one-second pause works well.

Can I use the audio in my videos and ads?

The tool is made for voiceovers in your own projects, such as videos, ads, lessons and presentations. You are responsible for the text you turn into speech and for how you use it, so check the terms of service, and never use a synthetic voice to mislead listeners about who is speaking.

Is Text to Speech included in the Free plan?

No. Text to speech is included in the paid plans, starting with Starter, and longer texts use more credits from your balance. The Free plan covers the text and image tools. See plans and pricing for what each plan includes.
