Turning what you have done into a resume that reads well, and gets through the software recruiters use to filter applications, is the hard part. The Resume Builder takes your rough notes, jobs with dates, studies, skills, languages and certifications, and turns them into a structured, ATS-friendly resume with standard headings and bullet points focused on achievements.
It works only with what you give it. If a date, an employer or a result is missing, the tool leaves a placeholder in square brackets, such as [dates], instead of making something up.
The Resume Builder belongs to the Business documents family. Once the resume is ready, you can write a matching Cover Letter and rework your profile with the LinkedIn About Section tool.
What you get
- Your name as the main heading, followed by one line of contact placeholders for email, phone, city and LinkedIn URL
- A three-line professional summary with who you are, your main strengths and the role you are aiming for
- Work experience in reverse chronological order, with 3 to 5 bullet points per role that start with action verbs
- Education, skills grouped by type, languages with level and certifications, whenever your notes include them
What you fill in
- Your name optional
-
e.g. Laura Bianchi
- Your experience, education and skills optional
-
Jobs with dates and main achievements, education, skills, languages and certifications. Rough notes are fine.
How to use it, step by step
-
Write your name
Type your name in the Your name field exactly as you want it at the top of the resume.
-
Paste your experience as rough notes
In Your experience, education and skills, list each job with title, company, dates and what you achieved, then studies, skills, languages and certifications. Rough fragments are fine.
-
Choose the language and generate
Pick the output language at the bottom of the form. The resume, its headings and the placeholders all come out in that language, so you can write your notes in Italian and get an English resume.
-
Fill the placeholders and adapt for each job
Replace every bracket, such as [phone] or [dates], with your real details. Before sending, reorder or trim the bullets so the ones closest to the job ad come first.

Tips for better results
- Write one line per achievement, not per duty. Managed the move to a new email platform gives the tool more to work with than responsible for email.
- Add figures only if you can defend them in an interview. The tool never invents numbers, so notes without figures produce a resume without figures.
- State the target role in your notes. The professional summary is written toward it.
Who uses it, and for what
Career changer
Write notes that stress transferable skills and name the new target role. The summary and the order of the bullets follow the direction you want, not your last job title.
Recent graduate with little experience
List internships, projects, studies and languages. The tool builds a short resume from what exists, with no padding.
Limits and good practice
- The tool writes and formats, it does not check your facts. Dates, job titles and results are yours to verify before sending.
- Each form field accepts a limited number of characters. For a long career, summarize older roles in one line each.
Frequently asked questions
Is the resume ATS-friendly?
Yes, in the way that matters most for parsing. It uses standard section headings such as Work Experience, Education and Skills, and avoids tables, columns and graphics, which applicant tracking systems often read badly. Keep that structure when you move the text into your editor, and save the file in the format the job posting asks for.
Will it add experience or skills I don't have?
No. The tool writes only from your notes. When an essential detail is missing, such as the dates of a role or a city, it leaves a placeholder in square brackets for you to fill in. It never adds employers, degrees, skills or results that are not in what you wrote.
Can I write my notes in Italian and get an English resume?
Yes. The output language is set in the form, independently of the language of your notes. Headings, bullet points and placeholders all come out in the chosen language, while company, school and product names stay exactly as you wrote them.
Why doesn't my resume include a photo or date of birth?
The tool leaves out personal details that are not needed to assess your work, such as a photo, date of birth and marital status. In many countries, including the US and the UK, resumes are normally sent without them.
How long is the resume?
No more than two pages, and shorter when your notes are short. A recent graduate usually gets a single page. The length depends on how many roles and achievements you list, not on a target the tool tries to fill.
