Testimonial Editor

Edit a customer's real words into a short, publishable testimonial, without adding anything they did not say.

Sign in or create a free account, the tool opens in your workspace.

Good feedback often arrives in a long email or a chat message full of side notes. The Testimonial Editor turns those words into something you can publish. Paste what the customer wrote, add their name and role, and it edits the text into two to four sentences, fixing grammar, removing repetition and keeping the customer's own expressions.

One rule governs it: use only what the customer said. It adds no results, figures, product names, praise or emotions, and never makes an opinion stronger. If the feedback is too short, vague or negative for a fair testimonial, it says so in one line.

Each edit comes with a pull quote of at most 12 words and a reminder to get the customer's approval, because consumer protection rules in the US, the EU and elsewhere prohibit fake or misleading testimonials. Part of the Website copy family. Create an account to prepare your first one.

What you get

  • A testimonial of two to four sentences built only from the customer's words
  • The customer's name and role on a separate line
  • A pull quote of at most 12 words, taken from the edited text
  • A one-line reminder to get the customer's approval
  • A clear notice instead of a testimonial when the feedback is not usable
  • The text kept in the language the customer wrote it in, never translated

What you fill in

Customer name and role required

Publish the name only with the customer's permission.

Customer's original words required

The testimonial is built only from these words. In the Language field, choose the language they are written in. Send the final version to the customer for approval before publishing.

How to use it, step by step

  1. Add the customer's name and role

Write it as you want it shown, for example Giulia Bianchi, owner of Bianchi Bakery. Publish a name only with the customer's permission.

  2. Paste the original words exactly

Copy the email, message or review as the customer wrote it, typos included. The testimonial is built only from these words, so do not summarize them first.

  3. Set the language of the original

In the language setting, choose the language the customer used. The testimonial stays in that language, and only the headings and notes follow the setting.

  4. Send it for approval

Share the edited testimonial with the customer and publish it only after they confirm it says what they meant.

Tips for better results

  • Paste the full message. Short fragments give the tool too little to work with and often lead to the not usable notice.
  • Ask for two results to get two alternative edits of the same words, then let the customer choose.
  • Keep the customer's specific details, such as the problem they had before. Concrete testimonials are more credible than general praise.

Who uses it, and for what

Freelancer collecting client feedback

Turn end-of-project thank-you emails into portfolio testimonials, approved by each client.

Local business with a new website

Edit messages customers already sent into a testimonials section for the home page.

Agency preparing a case study

Coach or consultant

Turn messages from past clients into approved quotes for a services page.

Limits and good practice

  • The tool edits real feedback. It does not write testimonials from scratch, and it should never be used to create one.
  • It does not check that the customer exists or agreed to publication. That is your responsibility.
  • Negative or mixed feedback is not turned into praise. Use the Review Response tool to reply to it instead.
  • Each edit, and each alternative, uses plan credits.

Frequently asked questions

How do I turn customer feedback into a testimonial?

Start from the customer's own words, keep the specific details, remove repetition and off-topic parts, then ask them to approve the edited version. The Testimonial Editor does the editing step for you, producing two to four sentences, a pull quote and an approval reminder, without adding anything the customer did not say.

Can the tool write a testimonial for me from nothing?

No. It only edits words a real customer wrote. Publishing invented testimonials misleads buyers and is prohibited by consumer protection rules in many countries. If you have no feedback yet, ask your customers for it, then paste their answer into the tool.

Will the edit make the customer sound more enthusiastic?

No. The instructions forbid making an opinion stronger than it is or adding praise, emotions, results or figures. Grammar and flow improve, the meaning stays the same, so the customer recognizes their own words when you send it for approval.

What happens if the feedback is too short or negative?

The tool tells you in one line that the text is too short, too vague or too negative for a fair testimonial, instead of stretching it into one. You can ask the customer for more detail, or reply to the criticism with a response tool.

Does the tool translate testimonials?

No. The testimonial stays in the language the customer wrote it in, because a translation is no longer their words. Choose that language in the settings, and the headings and notes follow it too. For another language, translate it and get the customer's approval again.
